Editorial standards

Editorial Independence

PlusGBUK’s editorial conclusions are based on evidence, relevance and responsible interpretation. Commercial relationships, search demand and external pressure should not decide what a medical or legal article says.

Separation from commercial interests

An advertiser, sponsor, affiliate partner or other commercial party may have a legitimate interest in how its own material is represented. That does not give it control over unrelated reporting, safety information, evidence assessment or criticism.

Conflicts of interest

Writers, reviewers and editors should disclose relationships that could reasonably call their independence into question. The appropriate response depends on the conflict: disclosure may be enough in some cases, while another writer or reviewer may be required in others.

Corrections and external pressure

We will correct a factual error when the evidence supports a correction. We will not remove accurate material solely because an individual, company or organisation dislikes it. Legal concerns should be sent to [email protected].
